Our Appeal
This beautiful church on its ancient site is the centre of a vibrant community with a diverse range of activities. We have programmes of worship for adults and for children, and ecumenical groups that encourage community dialogue. We host three other spiritual communities, and we welcome tourists, visitors, and pilgrims. We have thriving youth groups, sporting organisations, and social clubs.
The church is the focus for a variety of cultural events including festivals, performances, music concerts and recitals, genealogical research, heritage tours, and art exhibitions.
The current closure of the church is a huge blow to the parishioners, who have lost their spiritual home, and to the whole community, who have lost a wonderful venue and inspiring resource.
Although we the parishioners are dedicated to repairing and reopening the church, we are relatively small in number. And that is why we must now appeal to the wider community in Swords, to those with business interests in the town, and to friends and kindred spirits even further afield, and to you to join us and help save this exquisite, iconic, much-loved and historic building.
